Level 5 Teacher!

Posted Date: 02/03/2025

Congratulations, Ms. Candace Crisp! This is the second year in a row that Ms. CC has been recognized as a Level 5 teacher, which is a huge accomplishment!
Keep up the amazing work!

Ms. CC has been in education for 24 years, and 14 years at Whiteville Elementary School. She has taught Pre-K, 1st-grade, and 3rd-grade.
The most rewarding thing about her job is seeing the scholars grow and learn. It is amazing to see the growth from August to May.
Ms. CC believes that children learn best through play, interacting with others, their experiences, and hands-on learning activities.
While teaching scholars, she strives to the have utmost respect and love for them.
Having scholars come with a blank slate is so special. Special, yet challenging. As the Pre-K teacher, the responsibility to teach them so many things socially and academically can be challenging.
The biggest impact during her teaching career is seeing scholars previously taught as adults.
Ms. CC stated, “I see them on social media and I am so proud of their achievements. While on Christmas break, I ran into a young man with his family at Walmart in Oakland. I noticed he was looking at me. Finally, he asked did you use to teach at Lester Elementary School? I said yes. He said I knew it was you, you were my first-grade teacher. It made my day!”
